After an earthquake in Naples bay, the body of a man is found. While Dino and his daughter, Victoria, travel to Italy for a DNA test, the past catches up with them.

Phom Penh, Cambodia, nowadays. Sony, a 10-year-old Cambodian kid working at a discharge, is thrown out of home by his father. Left on his own, he is fostered by an association that is allowing him to go to school and to discover a new way of living. Sony will quickly settle, but on the day of a school outing, he makes an unexpected discovery.

Alma, petrified, does not know how to react when her son, age 8, wants to dress as a fairy and go to school. She asks advice from her neighbor, and eventually the entire building debates his right to behave cross-gender.
